Good news for the long traveller! Honda will launch a powerful bike with 1100cc engine


new Delhi. Honda is soon going to launch a powerful bike with 1100 cc engine in the Indian market. The company has filed registration for the patent of its NT1100 sports tourer for this. The NT1100 tourer is based on the internationally popular CRF1000L Africa Twin motorcycle.

Some of the key features of this touring machine are its long travel suspension, DCT automatic gearbox and electronic safety equipment and a long range of features. Though the registration of the patent does not guarantee the launch, it is expected that this touring model can actually be introduced in the market. Especially since the Africa Twin is already on sale in the country.

Talking about the engine of this bike, it gets a 1,084 cc, parallel-twin engine. This powertrain is rated to deliver maximum power of 102hp at 7,500rpm and peak torque of 104Nm is recorded at 6,250rpm. It can be made available in 6-speed DCT or 6-speed manual, configuration with an option quickshifter.

Honda will offer this touring bike with rider assist features like Honda’s Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), wheelie control, three default riding modes (Urban, Rain and Tour) along with two customizable riding modes. Apart from this, it will get a 6.5-inch TFT touch panel with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth.

Talking about the price of Honda NT1100, its price in the global market is between Rs 12.20 lakh to Rs 13.22 lakh. At this price point, it is slightly less expensive than the adventure touring motorcycle from Honda. Though the Honda NT1100 has no direct rival in the Indian market, it will rival the Kawasaki Kawasaki 1000SX and Triumph Tiger 900 GT bikes in terms of pricing.
