new Delhi. Bajaj Auto on Thursday announced that its Chetak electric scooter is now available for purchase in 20 Indian cities including Delhi, Goa and Mumbai. The company said that it has managed to double the Chetak network in the first 6 weeks of 2022. The electric scooter from Bajaj Auto is currently available with a waiting period of 4 to 8 weeks. Customers can also book it online on the company’s official website.
Bajaj Auto added 12 new cities to Chetak’s network in 2022. Cities including Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Kozhikode, Hubli, Visakhapatnam, Nashik, Vasai, Surat, Delhi, Mumbai and Mapusa have been added this year.

Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto has also announced a new investment of Rs 300 crore to increase its electric vehicle production capacity. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto said, “The success of Chetak is based on the quality of a thoroughly tested, reliable product. An on-ground network of sales and service eases concerns for new customers like electric scooters. We plan to double Chetak’s network in the coming few weeks to meet the high demand.”

Scooter gives a range of 95km
Talking about the Chetak electric scooter, it is available in the market in urban and premium variants. A 3.8kW motor has been used in both Chetak models. It has a fixed 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. However, now that most other electric scooters feature swappable/removable battery technology, Chetak is yet to come up with this technology. The scooter offers a top speed of 70kmph and a range of 95km (in eco mode). Bajaj Chetak is primarily available for purchase in colors including Indigo Metallic, Velutto Rosso, Brooklyn Black and Hazelnut.
