Holi Online Shopping: Holi, bumper sale of e-commerce companies broke the record of Diwali sale


new Delhi. Holi Online Shopping: This time there has been a huge increase in the sale of e-commerce companies on Holi. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho got huge orders on Holi. The sales of many companies even exceeded their Diwali sale figures. The special thing is that 80 percent of the people who order online on Holi are from Tier 2 cities like Amravati, Aurangabad, Faizabad and Muzaffarpur and Silchar.

More than 1.4 crore orders were received during the Holi sale of e-commerce platform Meesho held from March 4 to 6. This is more than last year’s Diwali sale. On Holi, people bought colours, pichkari as well as jewellery, footwear, electronics and apparel. The demand for flour, semolina, ghee, sugar, vermicelli and other grocery items on the e-commerce platform was more than in Tier-3 cities.

Meesho Sellers sales up 230 percent

According to a report in Business Standard, online e-commerce platform Meesho’s CXO Utkrishta Kumar claims that the company has received 1.4 crore orders this time and sellers have received 230 percent more orders. He says that 80 percent of the demand on Meesho has come from Tier-2 cities of the country. Delhi’s Meesho seller Varun says that this time more orders have come on Holi than Diwali. Rajkot’s Meesho Sellers Priyanka Adhara also says that this time five times more orders have come on Holi.

The colors of Holi also rose on Shopsy

The first Holi sale of Flipkart’s social commerce platform Shopsy was also bumper. People also bought a lot of products like organic colors, whose sales were very less earlier. In the Shopsy Holy Essentials category, 60 per cent of the orders came from Tier 3 cities. The highest demand came from Patna, Lucknow, Guwahati, Varanasi, Allahabad, Jaipur, Ranchi, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar, Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Medinipur, Bankura and Nagpur.

The demand for colors on Shopsy was five times and the order for pichkari was four times more. Apparels category also witnessed double growth. Not only this, the sale of decorative items related to Holi increased by 25 times, the sale of Holi crackers by 21 times and the sale of non-alcoholic beverages by 17 times.

The colors of Holi have risen on Amazon. The company had built a Holi shopping store. In this, from herbal colors to pichkari, puja material, waterproof gadgets and accessories are made available for sale, as well as discounts are being given on many electronic items. Online fashion platform Myntra also says that its sales have increased tremendously on Holi. A Myntra spokesperson says that there was a significant jump in the sale in the Indian wear and beauty category.
