new Delhi. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, a popular two-wheeler manufacturer in India, has set a new record. The company has crossed the 30 lakh units export mark in 21 years.
Honda 2Wheelers India started exports in 2001 with its debut model Activa. In 2016, Honda’s total had crossed the 15 lakh mark. At the same time, in the last 5 years alone, the company has exported more than 15 lakh two-wheelers.

In 2020, the company established a new overseas business expansion business vertical and expanded its global exports to developed markets such as the US, Japan and Europe. Apart from this, HMSI has also started manufacturing global engines from its fourth factory in Vitthalpur, Gujarat.
Speaking on the occasion, Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, Chairman and CEO, said, “This achievement for the company is a great testament to its continued efforts. Last year, we started global engine production at the Vithalpur plant in Gujarat, which further strengthened our export capabilities. As we move into developed markets, our refocused focus on export expansion moves the company one step closer to becoming the ‘Manufacturing Hub for the World’.”
