New Delhi. There is good news for people who are dreaming of settling in Canada. The Canadian government on Monday announced its Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024 (Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024). In this, the Canadian government has increased the immigration target. This has been done to overcome the slowdown in the economy due to the Kovid-19 epidemic and to meet the acute shortage of workers. Canada intends to invite about 1.3 million immigrants in the next three years. This will be 1.14 percent of its total population in 2024.
As of 2015, there were about 2.5 million immigrants to Canada each year. The Canadian government increased this quota to 3 lakh in 2016. Before the Corona epidemic, the government had allowed 3 lakh 40 thousand immigrants to come to Canada, but in 2020 due to Corona this number was reduced to less than 2 lakh. In the year 2021, more than 405,000 people were given permanent citizenship in Canada. This was the highest number of citizenships ever granted by Canada in a year. There are about 1.8 million visa or citizenship applications pending in Canada due to Kovid-19.
