General Manager Gangal also stressed on minimizing human errors in rail operations to reduce accidents. He has also directed the Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers to further improve the punctuality of trains and to maintain the speed of goods loading giving priority to safety.

General Manager Ashutosh Gangal, in a meeting with all the Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers of Northern Railway through video conferencing, expressed happiness that it has maintained a good record of punctuality and laid special emphasis on punctuality of trains. He also informed that Northern Railway has run 998 crack freight trains during the period from 10th February to 16th February, which has improved the freight loading.

He said that apart from safety, work like increasing mobility is the priority of Northern Railway. He reviewed the maintenance standards of the tracks, welds and the work done by the zone to remove the scrap lying near the tracks. He directed the divisions to expedite the works to increase the mobility and conduct campaigns to check the progress of the works. He also directed to make all possible efforts to remove the obstacles faced during rail operation.

Gangal said that whenever necessary counseling and training should be given to the concerned employees. He said that the cracks in railway tracks and rail velds should be closely monitored and no error should be left untouched.

Talking on Freight Business Development, the General Manager directed the Business Development Units to create an environment of trust and cooperation among the rail users. He also said that the concessions given by the Railways should reach all its customers. He said that there is an increase in the shipments of food grains and other items with every month.
