IT Refund: Income Tax Department sent Rs 1.92 lakh crore to taxpayers, complain here if they do not come


new Delhi. The Income Tax Department has refunded more than Rs 1.92 lakh crore to more than 2.24 crore taxpayers till March 15 in the current financial year (2021-22). This figure is for refunds made between April 1, 2021 and March 15, 2022. According to the department, of these 1.83 crore refunds worth Rs 37,961.19 crore are for assessment year 2021-22 (financial year ending March, 2022).

The Income Tax Department tweeted, “CBDT has issued refunds of Rs 1,92,119 crore to 2.24 crore taxpayers during April 1, 2021 to March 15, 2022. This includes personal income tax refund of Rs 70,373 crore and corporate tax refund of Rs 1.21 lakh crore.

Check refund status from the new website of Income Tax Department-

>> First of all you have to go to the website

>> Enter User ID and Password.

>> After login, you will see the option of e-filing.

>> Now you select Income Tax Returns

>> After that click on View File Return.

>> Now the details of your ITR will be shown.

You can complain to the Income Tax Department sitting at home

One of the major reasons in cases of income tax refund getting stuck can be a mistake in the bank account details. If the refund has not come even after there is no disturbance, then a complaint can be made to the Income Tax Department. The Income Tax Department has issued a toll free number – 1800-103-4455 for this. Taxpayers can also register complaints through the e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department.
