new Delhi. Maruti Suzuki is going to make a comeback in the three-row passenger vehicle segment with the launch of the facelift versions of the Ertiga and XL6 soon. According to reports, India’s largest carmaker is all set to launch the 2022 Ertiga and 2022 XL6 in the coming weeks. Both the 2022 Ertiga and 2022 XL6 cars will take on the Kia Carens and Hyundai Alcazar along with other feature options in the segment.

The recently launched Kia Cars is one of the big challenges for Maruti’s 7-seater cars with the current low price tag and great features. Hence, it is expected that both the models will be equipped with the same features as the new generation 2022 Baleno. However, the biggest update on the new Ertiga and XL6 could be a new automatic gearbox, which will help Maruti make both these offerings more attractive to buyers. According to sources, Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission in both the models.
These will be the big updates
Maruti launched the Ertiga in India in 2018, while the XL6 was launched a year back. This is a slightly more premium model of the company’s seven-seater model. As far as the exterior changes are concerned, the new Ertiga and XL6 are expected to get a new grille like the new Baleno. At the same time, the bumper and alloy wheels can also be upgraded.
These features will be available in the interior
Many changes are also expected in the cabin of both the Ertiga and XL6. The new 9-inch infotainment screen could make its way to these two models with the SmartPlay Pro variant introduced in 2022 Baleno. Apart from these, the Ertiga and XL6 could be offered with wireless charging, 360 camera view and new upholstery among the changes. The XL6 may also get the HUD screen available on the new Baleno.

This will be the engine of both
Maruti is likely to continue with the 1.2-litre K12N four-cylinder DualJet petrol engine in the new Ertiga. It can generate maximum output of 103bhp and peak torque of 138 Nm. The XL6 is also likely to get the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15B mild-hybrid petrol unit that is capable of producing 103bhp and 138Nm of peak torque.
