new Delhi. Maruti Suzuki has launched its popular hatchback car Celerio after India in South Africa. Its updated version was launched in India at the end of last year. Due to its low mileage and low cost, it has become the favorite car of Indians in no time.

The Celerio is manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s production hub in the country, and will also be exported to South Africa. The export of the car overseas is almost at par with the units sold in the domestic market.

Car is great in mileage
The Celerio is priced starting ₹ 4.99 Lakh (Ex-showroom) in the Indian market and goes up to ₹ 6.94 Lakh (Ex-showroom). The company claims a mileage of 26.68 kmpl in the Celerio. With this it is considered as the fuel efficient car of India. Its international-spec model comes with a 1.0-litre petrol engine that is rated to produce 66bhp of maximum power and 89Nm of peak torque. The car gets a five-speed manual and an AMT unit transmission option.

Some of the key features inside the car include a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, 15-inch alloy wheels, reverse parking sensors, a push start/stop button, a rear wiper and more. The seven-inch SmartPlay Studio installed in the car supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Although the seat and upholstery are quite basic. For safety, the car has dual airbags, ABS with EBD, first-in-segment hill hold assist in the segment. Its rivals in the domestic market are Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro, Datsun GO and Maruti Suzuki Wagon R.

59.25 percent more sales
Talking about the sales figures, the company has sold a total of 9,896 units of Celerio in the last February, which is 59.25 percent more than the sales of the old model last year. Last year, the company sold a total of 6,214 units of its old model. Now the company has introduced its facelift model with new features, updates and new technology.
