Ratan Tata got Assam’s highest civilian award, this is the special reason

New Delhi. The Assam government conferred its highest civilian honor ‘Assam Baibhav’ on Ratan Tata, one of the country’s eminent industrialists and honorary chairman of Tata Sons. On January 24, 2022, when Ratan Tata could not reach the ceremony held in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presented him this honor on Wednesday.

Ratan Tata has been selected for the ‘Assam Vaibhav’ award for his contribution towards cancer care facilities in the state.

What is Assam Vaibhav Award
Assam Baibhav Award is the highest civilian award of the state of Assam. The award was officially announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Assam Baibhav Award carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh. In addition, the awardee can avail medical treatment at government expense for the rest of his life.
