Regular international flights may start again from March, discussions going on in the ministry

new Delhi . A lot of people are eagerly waiting for the start of regular international flights. Due to the third wave of Corona Infection, international flights are currently banned till 28 February. According to sources, regular international flights can start from India from next month i.e. March itself.

According to sources, the Civil Aviation Ministry is in talks with senior officials of the Home and Health Ministries in this regard. However, no final decision has been taken yet. Sources have told CNBC-TV18 that the necessary options for regular operation of international flights are being discussed. A decision can be taken in this regard soon.

Ban till 28 February 2022
Issuing an order in this regard, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had directed, ‘The competent authority has decided that the ban on international flights to and from India will remain in force till 11.59 pm on 28 February 2022. However, this restriction will not be applicable on international cargo flights and flights with special permission from DGCA.

Flights were started for about 40 countries.
In March 2020, the ban on international flights to and from India was implemented due to corona infection. However, from July-2020, international passenger flights to about 40 countries started operating from India under the Air-Bubble Arrangement. Under the air-bubble, passenger flights operate only between those countries, where there is no or negligible risk of corona infection.

Flights were to be restored from December 15
Earlier, DGCA had said on 26 November 2021 that regular international flights to and from India would be restored from 15 December. But the very next day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM NArendra Modi) reviewed the status of corona infection. After talking to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, he expressed his intention not to restore the regular operation of international flights. After this DGCA withdrew its proposal.
