samsung: Samsung developing new foldable devices to release this year – Times of India

[ad_1]

Samsung might be developing a new foldable device that is expected to be released at the next major Unpacked event. SamMobile reports that the South Korean smartphone giant may have a third foldable device in the pipeline, apart from the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Z Flip 4. The reports suggest that the company has three codenames for its foldable projects this year which are — B4, Q4 and N4.
Last year, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Z Fold 3 had codenames B3 and Q3 respectively, so we can assume that the N4 codename is there for a completely new foldable device. The tech giant has recently discontinued the Galaxy Note series and we might not witness its comeback anytime soon.
What to expect from the device codenamed N4?
There is no official information about the type of device for which Samsung has given the codename N4. We can assume it to be a foldable device as the South Korean tech giant has been experimenting and showcasing prototypes of the different foldable and rollable devices.
Samsung has filed quite a few patents in the last few years including one with rollable displays and one that folds in various shapes. The N4 might not be such extremes but it might be the company’s next innovative design. The reports also suggested that Samsung won’t be producing the new model in such large quantities as the other two foldable handsets.
