new Delhi. The Indian stock market started trading on Thursday with a sharp increase for the second consecutive day. The Sensex ran above 800 as soon as it opened, while the Nifty has crossed the figure of 17 thousand.
Sensex started trading today with a gain of 803 points and opened at 57,620. Similarly, Nifty started trading with a gain of 228 points and opened at 17,203. The confidence of investors in the market showed high today and continued buying. At 9.35 am, the Sensex was trading at 57,564 with a gain of 748 points, while the Nifty was up by 212 points at 17,187 points.

How did the sector perform?
Almost all the sectors on BSE were trading on the green mark today. At the time of commencement of trading, about 1,676 shares were showing gains, while 331 shares declined and 66 shares showed no change. Auto, Bank, Capital Goods, Real Estate, FMCG, Pharma and PSU sectors are seeing a jump of more than 1 percent.
Betting heavily on these shares
Investors bet heavily on banking stocks today. Due to this, there was a sharp jump in the shares of HDFC, UltraTech Cement, Axis Bank, Shree Cements and Bajaj Finance in the morning trade itself. On the other hand, there was a big decline in the shares of companies like ONGC and IOC.

Asian markets also opened up sharply
Most of the stock markets of Asia have opened with gains on Thursday morning. Singapore’s stock exchange is seeing a jump of 1.62 percent, while Japan’s Nikkei is trading with a gain of 3.59 percent. Apart from this, the stock market of South Korea is also trading with a gain of 1.82 percent.
