new Delhi. On Monday, there was a big fall in the stock market under the pressure of global factor and Russia-Ukraine War. As soon as the trading started, the selling took hold and the Sensex opened below 53 thousand and the Nifty opened below 16 thousand.
In the morning trade, the Sensex opened at 53,173 with a loss of 1,161 points, while the Nifty started trading at 15,868 with a loss of 377 points. The Sensex reached 52,935 with a loss of 1,398 points at 9.20 am due to investors’ selling and profit-booking. Nifty was also trading 390 points lower at 15,850.

The biggest decline seen here
On Monday, once again there was weakness in the banking and auto sector stocks. Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints, Eicher Motors and ICICI Bank were the top losers which suffered the most. However, stocks like ONGC, Coal India, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel also saw a sharp jump.

Asian markets also opened at a loss
Trading started with a fall in all the major stock markets of Asia on Monday. The Singapore Stock Exchange was trading 2.06 per cent and Japan’s Nikkei 2.90 per cent lower. Apart from this, the South Korean exchange was also down by 1.80 percent. The impact of the weakness of Asian markets will also be seen on the exchanges of India.
