The car has undergone several sessions on snow and intensive field testing, the company said in Argeplug. The hydrogen fuel cell drive system of the car has performed like driving under normal conditions despite extreme cold. Despite the cold weather, the drive system offered a full operating range. It takes only three to four minutes to refill the hydrogen tanks of the car under such conditions, highlighting its refueling capability.

Engine works like this
The BMW IX Hydrogen is powered by the 5th generation BMW eDrive technology along with an electric motor using fuel cell technology. The hydrogen that the car uses as an energy source is stored in two 700-bar tanks made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. The fuel cell then converts the hydrogen into electric power, which produces 170 hp of power.
