A decrease in the unemployment rate is a sign of this. Like April-June 2021, the government has got a big relief on the employment front in July-September 2021 as well. The urban unemployment rate has come down by 2.8 percent on a quarterly basis.
According to the labor force survey data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the unemployment rate for persons aged 15 years and above in urban areas in the country declined to 9.8 per cent in July-September 2021. Which was 13.2 percent in the same period last year, while it was 12.6 percent during April-June 2021.

Know when was the highest unemployment
The unemployment rate is measured as the percentage of unemployed persons in the labor force. NSO says that the unemployment rate in the country was the highest in July-September 2020. Unemployment had reached its peak due to the nationwide lockdown imposed to keep the corona epidemic under control.

Women’s unemployment rate also decreased
According to the 12th Labor Force Survey of NSO, the unemployment rate of women (15 years and above) in urban areas also decreased to 11.6 percent in July-September 2021. Earlier this figure was 15.8 percent in the same period a year ago, while it was 14.3 percent in April-June 2021.
Relief in case of men also
Similarly, the unemployment rate for men in urban areas also declined to 9.3 per cent during July-September 2021, from 12.6 per cent in the same period a year earlier. This figure was 12.2 percent in April-June 2021.
