new Delhi. The price of Urad Dal has come down in the last one year. The government says that the average wholesale price of urad dal has come down by 5 percent in the last one year. A government statement said that the government has taken several measures to boost domestic availability and stabilize the prices of essential food items.

Price reduced by up to Rs 9,410.58 per quintal
According to consumer affairs department data, the average wholesale price of urad dal as on February 25, 2022 is Rs 9,410.58 per quintal as against Rs 9,904.39 per quintal on February 25, 2021. This indicates a decline of 4.99 per cent.


Similarly, the average wholesale price of urad dal on February 24, 2022 was Rs 9,444.06 per quintal as against Rs 9,896.95 per quintal on February 24, 2021.

Stock limit on storage of all pulses except moong
In May 2021, the Central Government issued an advisory to the States/UTs to monitor the prices of essential food items and ensure disclosure of the stock of pulses held by millers, importers and traders under the Essential Commodities Act. went. The stock limit on all pulses except moong was notified on July 2, 2021.

Revised order was issued regarding import
Subsequently, a revised order was issued on July 19, 2021, imposing stock limits on four pulses, tur, urad, masoor and gram, for a period up to October 31, 2021. The government allowed import of tur, urad and moong under ‘free category’ from May 15, 2021 to October 31, 2021. After this, the free system in respect of import of tur and urad was extended till March 31, 2022. As a result of import policy measures, there has been a substantial increase in the imports of Arhar, Urad and Moong as compared to the corresponding period of last two years.
