new Delhi. German carmaker Volkswagen is going to stop production of its popular cars Vento and Polo in India. So far these cars have performed well in the Indian auto industry. Under the India Project 2.0, Volkswagen India is showing more power these days on some new models like Taigun. Along with this, the company is also planning to launch some more new models in the country.

The sales of this Vento in India started in 2010. Its price in India ranges from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.06 lakh. According to the report of CarDekho, its selected variants have been discontinued. Now preparing to launch the updated version of this sedan. It is believed that its name can now be changed to Virtus for Volkswagen.

Polo was first introduced in India in the year 2010. Although the company has not announced it yet, it is being said that the production of Vento and Polo in the country will stop from June 2022. Which car will be launched in place of Polo, it is not known at the moment. Sells Polo on a common platform in emerging markets like Brazil.

The Polo is available in 5 color options with Flash Red, Sunset Red, Candy White and Carbon Steel. Volkswagen offers the Polo in 2 engine options with 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol and 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, TSI turbo-petrol. In this, the first unit generates power of 76 bhp, while the second one generates power of 110 bhp. The Vento is only offered with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, TSI turbo-petrol engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

two variants discontinued
According to the report, the company is working on the successor model of this sedan. The new model has been named Virtus and is expected to be launched in March. The company has currently discontinued two variants of the Vento sedan, Comfortline (Base Model) and Highline Plus MT (Base Model). Due to this, it will now be available in only two variants – Highline and Highline Plus.
