NEW DELHI: Popular instant messaging app — WhatsApp has announced a series of updates for its voice messages feature. The company claims that with this new update it will become easier for the users to communicate with their friends and family using the voice notes feature.
The six new features introduced by WhatsApp include — draft preview, the ability to pause and resume the message, out of chat playback and the global voice note player.

Out of chat playback
With this feature, users can now listen to voice messages outside of the chat. This means that you can now multitask on your smartphone and also listen to the voice message you just received on the app.
Pause and resume recording
When recording a new voice message you can now pause the recording in between and then resume it when you are ready. The feature will allow users to communicate in a better manner.
Waveform visualization
This feature will show a visual representation of the sound of the voice message and will help users to follow the recording.
Draft preview
The feature enables users to listen to their own recorded voice messages before sending them.
Remember playback
In case you pause a voice message at the time of listening then you can resume from where you left off when you come back to the conversation.
Fast playback on forwarded messages
You can now play voice messages at 1.5x or 2x speeds and listen to them faster. The feature is applicable to both regular and forwarded voice messages.
WhatsApp will be rolling out these six new features to all its users in the coming weeks.
