The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the second subcompact sedan with a CNG kit, which is offered in two trims. Earlier Tata Motors forayed into the CNG space with the Tigor sedan, which is also offered in two variants. Hyunda offers CNG on the base variant of the Aura. Talking about the prices, Maruti Dzire CNG is the most expensive of the three. The Hyundai Aura CNG model costs Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tata Tigor iCNG’s XZ variant costs Rs 7.69 lakh (ex-showroom), which is less than the VXI variant of the Dzire CNG. The top-spec ZXI variant of the Maruti Dzire CNG also costs around ₹53,000 more than the top-spec Tata Tigor XZ Plus variant.

Maruti and Tata Motors have launched the top models Dzire and Tigor in CNG variants to offer more features to the customers. Hyundai Aura offers the CNG model only in the base S variant. Because of this, Aura lags behind these two cars in terms of features. On the other hand, Maruti Dzire and Tata Tigor CNG models have a lot of features in their top variants. However, Tata Motors scored a few more points for offering features like digital driver display, rear-parking camera and rain-sensing wipers when compared to the top-spec ZXI variant of the Dzire CNG model.

Talking about the engine performance and mileage of these cars, all three cars are offered with 1.2-litre petrol units and a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, the output of this engine varies from model to model. The Maruti Dzire CNG looks a bit more powerful than its rivals. In terms of mileage, the Tata Tigor iCNG scores higher than the Dzire S-CNG. Though Tata Motors has not shared any official mileage figures for the Tigor CNG model, it gives a mileage of around 35 kmpl. This is higher than Maruti’s claim of 31.12 km/kg and Aura’s 28 km/kg.
