Mumbai . central minister Nitin Gadkari has justified the hike in fuel prices thrice in the last four days. He said on Friday that due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, oil prices have increased in the international market. This situation is beyond the control of the Government of India.
Road Transport and Highways Minister Gadkari was speaking at the session ‘New India, New Manifesto – Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ at the ‘Ideas of India’ conference of ‘ABP Network’ here. When asked about the increased prices of petrol and diesel, he said, “80 percent of oil is imported in India. Oil prices have gone up in the international market amid the Russo-Ukraine war and there is nothing we can do about it.

The Union Minister said that we have been emphasizing on making India self-reliant since 2004, “with which we need to make our own fuel, emphasizing on the need to develop indigenous energy generation capabilities”.
